is already well underway and the companies are way behind the public. While the companies pushed their highly controlled formats, the public was flocking to the free and open mp3, ape and flac formats. And it is obvious now, that if anything has a chance to actually replace the CD as the primary music delivery format, it will be one of these or some combination. And it's already happening.
