Another thing to consider is that our ears don't hear the same every day. Ever yawn and it sound like somebody just pulled a blanket of the world? Our ears and sinuses are connected and we all know how sensitive our sinus is to the environment. Also what we hear is processed and filtered by our brain. Ever been in a room for a long time and you did not notice the air conditioner was so noisy till it shuts off and everything sounds so quiet. It's possible that the sound of your system may change depending on what noises you were around beforehand
