TGT:It's quite possible that dishwashing fluid could be just as effective. I personally haven't done the comparison--formally, that is. I've cleaned dirty discs with dishwashing fluid before and then played them, but I don't remember hearing as big a difference as with the Shine Ola. I might have to do a formal comparison now, though. If it is as effective, I'll save a lot of money!
