A bit of noise at startup is almost inevitable with tube amps. With my DNA Sonett tube amp, the initial rush of current is audible but being a "DC heated" design it also becomes dead quiet again within a minute or so.
I believe that the sound of "tube rush" is harmless, but as a precaution you might keep the volume knob turned down to 0 when not using the system so that transient noises cannot be transmitted to the headphones at startup.
