I think people are more sensitive to differences in balance and coloration in headphones than speakers and this magnifies one's personal preferences. Be careful with low impedance cans, especially planar magnetics, they are very sensitive to amps and the hifiman and Audeze, among others, seem to require a lot of current vs. voltage.
It is really important to audition cans with your own amp.
