HD428 looks like a Sennheiser model to me. It and its successor, the HD429, measure very well at HeadRoom. The measurements indicate more subdued highs than the HD600. The HD428 is no longer listed there, but you can compare the measurements of the HD429, HD600, and many others by clicking on the graph and following directions.

Are you sure you got the model and number right?
