Sorry for the inconvenient dual-function button required to change "soundtracks" within a group. Literally a week before we began shipping the C-5xe they started selling these new disc that were organized by "soundtrack" instead of by group.
We had to change the firmware in the remote control to add the new command, but there weren't any spare buttons. So we had to make it dual-function button. Then we had to re-print all of the ownwer's manuals.
Starting about six months ago, we started shipping the C-5xe with our new metal remote control. It's the same one that ships with the KX-R preamp. There are three nice things about it compared to the old metal remote:
a) It has a true backlight that lights up all of the membrane switches, including all of the icons.
b) It also will control your Ayre preamp or integrated amp.
c) It has an extra button to change "soundtracks".
There is only one dual-function button, and that is the display button. Short presses adjust the brightness of the display, while longer presses will change the display mode of the C-5xe (such as time remaining). We sell it separately, but it ain't cheap -- $300 US retail.
