Telarc used to use 3 microphones in their older Stereo recordings. But now their Surround Sound Classical recordings use 7 microphones, however only 4 of them are used for the high resolution 2 channel mix. However many of their Jazz and Blues recordings are multi-mic'ed!On DVD-Audio the Vox and Vanguard analog recordings released by Classic Records and Silverline use only 4 microphones.
Hope this helps,
Teresa
