It's a 24-bit/176kHz upsampling CD transport. Similar in many ways to Meridian's upsampling high-end CD players which read the data off a CD into memory buffers, like a CD/DVD ROM drive system, for DSP processing. These had similar issues with DualDisc playback, but Meridian issued a fix. My Denon A11 also reads CDs like a ROM drive and into RAM buffers, and has issues with the CD side of DualDisc.Could be a similar issue with the Ayre.
