Re: Why the dislike for Dual Disc?

I don't personally care about any threat. Yes, it offers lower resolution, which is my main reason for buying hi-rez and I prefer stereo most of the time. Another factor is that there is just more software (CDs, SACDs, DVD-As, DVD-Vs, etc.) on the market than I can buy so I see no reason to buy something that could be a problem playing or perhaps even long term do something to one of my transports. Of the titles announced, I have several already on DVD-A and one announced might interest me but it will also be on SACD on Europe. To pay a few extra $ for one disc and not have a problem is worth it to me. I also don't use any hi-rez discs in the car and just make CD-Rs, so I am personally fine with single layer SACDs and I have my CD Recorder in the tape loop of my system so makeing a CD-R from a DVD-A is not a big deal. I also don't give a rat's ass about the video content of a DVD-A, I buy it for the resolution. When one is talking about what the resolutions are on DualDisc vs. playing a CD in one of my high end systems, I can get just as good or better sound out of a CD.

So in summary I am not at all interested in any aspect or potential problem with the format. If a couple of years down the road it is still kicking and there are titles I want vs. what is on my buy list on other formats, I'll try one. Not a big deal. It's just a damn shame that Warner is sitting on such a gold mine of titles they could stick on a real hi-rez DVD-A. Instead of making a real commitment to the format, Warner has basically not supported it and has left it's only niche or commercial viability to the failure or success of DualDisc.
