Am I correct in assuming that if a record company wanted to, they could release a dual disc that is 24/96 or 24/192? So then a small label could issue a "music only" dual disc, one side CD that plays in the car, one side that is high resolution that plays on the home stereo?It seems that space limitations are an issue, for example if one of the big labels wants to sell lots of copies of a pop release, they will compromise the audio to make room for the obligatory video?
If disc space is really the issue, why not just fast forward to the Blu Ray disc that holds something like 25 MB? But Blu Ray would require new hardware to implement?
