I used to record my LPs onto 8 track. If you get the 80min ones, you can fit one entire LP side onto a track pair, and avoid breaking up a song in the track change.They run at twice the speed of cassette, which gives them better frequency response.
To my knowledge, no manufacturer has ever issued an 8-track disclaimer. But then, try fitting one into your cassette player. I guarantee even if you somehow manage to get one in, you will jam the mechanism :-)
