It was because Peter Noone reminded him of JFK.
I can identify everyone on that sleeve, BTW. But what does surprise me is that the artist was Frank Frizetta. It looks like the work of Mad magazine's great Mort Drucker.

Frazzeta did contribute to MAD magazine occasionally, and this cartoon does look exactly like the art of Drucker.

I had to ask a Brit expat if Prince Phillip often carried a camera with him, and the expat confirmed it.

  But I'm sure the figures in the luxury box are Princess Margaret and her photographer husband Anthony Armstrong-Jones. The marriage of a princess to a commoner was a big deal in the mid-Sixties.

    My wife and I are big Lucy Worsley fans and we saw her show about the royal family last week. They were all photographs from the Forties through the Sixties and Armstrong-Jones figure prominently. He and the Princess met when he was hired to take her official portraits.
