...at the moment. Great music with great production on flat, super quiet vinyl. What a joy to get an album like this, at $30! We audiophiles are so lucky to have people like Bernie Grundman and Chad Kassem producing LPs for us to enjoy. Keep up the good work. Highly recommended!

The genius behind those records is the original engineer, Roy DuNann. Sterophile did a profile on him. He used Akg and Neumann mikes with built in tube preamps, and no other electronics. The very definition of "less is more." Perhaps the purist recording chain ever.

I just bought the next 2 Art Pepper albums in the series, Intensity and Smack up...they are also excellent.

However the versions released as Original Jazz Classics sound great too. And back in the 90's, I bought every one I could find that DuNann engineered. Art Farmerr, Sonny Rollins, Shelly Manne and Barney Kessel and a dozen more, direct from Fantasy Records for $9 each with free shipping! Those were the days.
