I might buy another turntable one day. I really want a direct-drive. I still have all my records packed in boxes in the garage, and I still have my TASCAM DA-3000. Only 71 of my vinyl recordings were made in DSD128. More than 300 others are in 16/44, so I would like to re-record some of those in DSD128. Perhaps I'll buy a Technics direct-drive. Actually, I still have my SL-1200 Mk2, but I'd really like to have one of the new ones. I understand SOTA is coming out with a direct-drive, and the motor and control system is designed by Phoenix Engineering. I've got a feeling it might be out of my price range, though. On the other hand, maybe not!
Happy listening!

John,
Check out the January 2025 edition of Stereophile for a glowing review of the Technics SL-1300G, which at $3299 is a screaming bargain. That's what I'd buy if my HRX packed it in. But that's not likely to happen anytime soon.
Yes, the new Technics SL-1300G looks like a winner. It's affordable, too.
I'd also buy the new Audio-Technica ART1000x cartridge.
Maybe I'll do that.
What phono stage would you recommend?
