Hi guys,
A friend has a pair of CS99A that has several super tweeters not working. Are there any current production replacements or does he have to buy used replacements?
Thanks!
Scott

you could take a look at Madisound
It might be a little lower SPL but not too bad.
Replacing the original alnico tweeters with Chinese domes is a definite downgrade. Used original tweeters are available at reasonable prices on the big auction site.
The highpass caps might be the real problem or also an oxidized pot if there is a level control.

We'll check that, Thanks!
Very good advice! I used to rebuild/recap a lot of the CS series and found that the overwhelming majority of the time when a tweeter or mid is out it's fixed by a good recap. Of course I have seen drivers go bad, but it's pretty rare.
If the tweeters are bad then I would shop eBay for some used ones that the seller tested and guarantees they are good.
Scholl, if diameter is 3 1/2", try Voyz PET-1918 Piezo Super Horn Tweeters as replacements. Got two as curiosity purchase for auld-school wood cab re-build. Remove that 3.3 uF electrolytic crossover cap, which is on negative tap(?). Add 2.2 uF x-over cap of choice & enjoy that crisp sparkle, which is atypical of most piezo tweets, once it breaks in. Utilized 4.7 uF Dayton polyprop x-over caps with vintage 10" Technics woofers for moi's two-way project. Voyz are designed for auto stereo, but work just fine in attaining a vintage vibe. ... 73s para Sactown
These are the small tweeter to either side of the horn. Thanks.
