I just picked up a Marantz 1120 amplifier which works, but sounds awful, which I expected. So I know that I should replace all the electrolytics in the power supply. But wondering what would be the next most important caps to replace. For instance, the electrolytic coupling capacitors in the preamp. And what about the nasty looking MKT 1813 film capacitors, also in the preamp and tone board? Any or all advice would be greatly appreciated!

Follow Ups:
I would invest in a good quality vacuum solder sucker. Many decades ago I did my own re-work in an electronics manufacturing plant and found a vacuum sucker made the job quick and simple.
Yes, probably a good idea. I usually do this stuff without a sucker, but it might come in handy doing 40 or 50 capacitors. Thanks much.

it looks like a decent amp project for restoration
I would suggest that you replace every single cap in the signal path starting with one input path only, and including the power supply caps.
Otherwise, why bother because you will most likely be going back in many times until you get lucky finding the offending capacitor even if it is a capacitor. It may be something else like a Diode that's not functioning properly or a burnt resistor.
Looks like hours and hours spent unless you get lucky, so good luck!
I didn't want to play it too long, as it had sat for 30 years in a closet and I was afraid of something frying. I think I'll do a board or two at a time in case I screw something up. Thanks for the advice.
