Today, while cleaning the MC head amplifier and removing degrading and stinky EMI/RF isolation foam pads I noticed four capacitors are covered in crystals. The crystals are easy to scrape but not very solvable in isopropyl.
Is it normal? If I need to replace them what kind of capacitors are they?

Looks like they are silver mica. See link below. Not sure about the crystals. The coating others have seen (again see link) seems to be harmless and the capacitors are fine. I'd clean them off and if the amplifier works, I wouldn't worry about it.
Thank you for the link. Looks like hoshin's silver mica capacitors are not dipped but covered with some kind of wax that over time create a build up. I cleaned them and they look normal now. I do not hear the difference in the amp sound.
