the Leyton 100. There is a 10" woofer and a 5" mid/tweeter, and the crossover contains two 13uF Nashville nonpolar electrolytic caps.
The mid/tweeters on both speakers work fine, and the pots also work perfectly. I did clean the pot in the speaker that seems slightly weaker or causes me to turn the balance knob towards that speaker.
The front grille is attached with 4 bolts, so that's not going anywhere until those bolts are accessed after opening up the backs of the speakers.
The surrounds are cloth and in excellent shape.
The speakers sound very good despite the lack of good imaging. They are the type of speaker that allows long listening with no fatigue, yet there is detail. Acoustic bass is clear with good tone, and the drum set cymbals and the drumstick hitting the rim edge are very clear.
The cabinet walls are 3/4" plywood with walnut colored veneer. There is no interior insulation except some minimal insulation in the can that covers the mid/tweeter.
Follow Ups:
I am pretty sure. Similar (perhaps identical) to that in the later EV Four, by the looks of it.
I am not at all sure why you're getting muddled imaging at some frequencies.
I would replace those decrepit NP electrolytics, though -- even with modern ones. It won't hurt. It may help -- a lot. Or get inexpensive but decent non-electrolytics (e.g., the "Dayton" branded capacitors sold by PartsExpress).
all the best,

that to mean manufacture by Electro-Voice for their own speaker.
The new caps are on their way, and I am going splice them into the original cap wires after removing the old Nashville caps. The Nashville wires are very stout. I hope this does solve the imbalance problem, as all the drivers and pots are working properly.
example from memory - Jensen # was 220. See the link below
keep us posted. :)
