My AC guy was over today to service my air conditioner. We got around to talking about audio equipment.
He has a Kenwood basic C2 preamp tuner that he'd like to have repaired.
He understands the cost of repair might be more than it's worth but he said it's a nostalgic component.
Looking for a reputable service center that specializes in vintage gear service he can ship to.
He lives in Arizona, but he is going to ship to another state if he can get a quality repair.
Thanks

Hi,
Please send contact info . I have some equipment to consider. I am in Lake Charles, LA.
Thanks,
Chuck
Hi Bob, I bet this is an unexpected response. The talk of Tucson, I'm guessing this is where you are. I'm north of Phoenix. I have a good friend in Tucson who is a major audio head, who also has need for a good AC guy. If you recommend this guy, I will pass his contact info along and they can talk HVAC and audio.
Hi fredtr,
Thank you for your reply. My AC guy ( Mike) works for Summit cooling and heating in Tucson . They've been servicing my AC and heater for the past few years and are competent and reliable.
I'll give Mike a heads up.
If your friend calls, probably best not to mention audio, just AC business as the owner, not Mike will most likely answer.
Thanks
Thank-you Bob, I passed your message along to my friend Steve.

If you can handle shipping, I have used Mort's TV and repair in Pennsylvania and been very pleased with his work. Reasonable pricing and quick turn around once you move through the queue.
My guy here in Orlando has a partner in Tucson. May be worth a call.

Coincidentally, he took his component twice to the Tucson shop mentioned in the link but was not fixed
Was it not fixed in that it was supposed to be fixed and wasn't or was he unable to do it based on parts or other issue? While Kris (here in Orlando) is a tube guy (he has worked on my Cary SLM100's and kept them running) he has a backlog of vintage ss receivers that all suffer for lack of replacement transistors that will work in those boards.
Hi sbrook,
I'm not sure. I'll have to ask my AC guy. He didn't give me the details. He just said it wasn't fixed.
Hi Bob, while your looking for a guy to fix the tuner if your interested in fixing your own vintage stuff there is a great site called (D Lab) run by this guy Terry. He has endless vintage tutorials for free. His videos are spliced in with his wit, he makes them funny. ...Mark Korda
Thank you. I'll check out the link
Thank you. I'll pass on this info to my AC guy.
