Thanks for the useful suggestions guys. Looks like change the coupling capacitor, retension and clean the tube sockets.

I did recap the amp when I first got it but that's over 20 years ago now.

Also - if the amp still has the original selenium rectifier be sure to replace it with a fast/quiet diode.
