I never liked double Advents(I only tried vertical tweeter to tweeter). I found single Advents to be cleaner, more defined and more focused. Doubles always seemed to have an amorphous image and were more veiled. I tried double Advents first(compared to IMF Studio 2s which I also preferred as did the other listeners) Then we went back to single Advents which is when I finally decide I preferred them.

I can understand that concern. In my case a great part of why I enjoy the stacked advaents is that my room is a long rectangular workshop where I spend most of my time standing. And, I'm only about 8-10 ft from the speakers. that means I really enjoy the sound being up a few feet off the ground. Room Dynamics are so critical...

B&W 16s?
Yes those other speakers are b & w DM 16s. That has been a interesting project. they were destined for the dump, both tweeters were toast. I pulled both crossovers one had a bad capacitor and resistor the other just needed the Molex plug tightened and connection cleaned. I replaced the tweeters with titanium instead of the original cloth. I love them with tube amps. Punchy and fast 10" woofers.
