Hi, this Dyna ST 35 sits on my dresser in my bedroom.I'm using a FX01 tube buffer preamp with GE tubes. The amp base is barn board pine painted with Federal Blue,Cabot's.Those feet are called cookies by the fisherman and go on the ground rope of a trawling net. There are millions of these sitting out in a sand pit. They are stamped out of old tires and have fabric imbedded in the middle.Anyone try that magic? In my second picture is about the hardest wood ever.My buddy the lobsterman used it on his trap rail. That's where the trap comes up on the boat.He called the wood Epay,or something that sounds like that.It is hard as iron.My question to you readers is which wood would be optimum for best sound in my little room....thanks for any ideas, Mark Korda

Ipe - Brazilian Walnut see linky below
It is very hard and often used for DecksBack to the vibration question, I have been using a few different items/techniques for many years - and been quite happy with the results
I have a couple of analytic balance bases, think synthetic stone with vibration damping feet (springs) - and the whole thing weights 100+ pounds - I have one under my Amp, plus a platform from Aspy Khambatta.
I have also built some multi-layered platforms using Granite, Aluminum plate, leaded vinyl and cork.
There are a number of industrial multi-layered rubber products that can work nicely...
It is important!
Happy Listening

Hi guys, great to hear your ideas. The Jack Benny thing in the picture is right behind the preamp under the jacks.A drywall sanding spounge cut in half to secure interconnect geometry...-Mark
Mark, vibration control often improves sound. My CDP DAC sits on Stillpoints I got used some years ago and find them effective.
Having an old copy of Listener nearby is a sure way to improve sound quality as well!
