Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone has tried the Puritan PSM156 and would be willing to share their opinion. The unit is getting uniformly rave reviews in Europe, but it seems to be unheard of in the US. They were supposed to demo at RMAF this year, but that was canceled. I have read posts on other forums of people replacing much more expensive power conditioners (Audioquest Niagara) with this and never looking back, so I'd be grateful for any thoughts from anyone who has heard one.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
Follow Ups:
Audio Science Review has tested and reviewed it and does not recommend it "as an audio fidelity improvement device." However the device "seems to have real filtering in there" for those who think that matters.
It's rather well established that amirm measures well but hears nothing. So it may be here.
What if it measures poorly and sounds accordingly or makes no audible difference?
Well, I guess we'll never know from amirm for he never sat down with the thing, plugged his system (or at least his front end) into it, listened and told us if it had any beneficial, or other, effect. Chances are he would have said no. There are lots of testimonies from ordinary audiophiles who say that the Puritan is effective. Do you think it's just a placebo?
I think it is amirm's belief that if you cannot measure a difference, you cannot hear a difference. Like many people, for example, he doesn't hear cable differences that many of us hear.

Wow; thanks. That's quite a review!
