I have a recommendation for some soft recovery diodes if you need to upgrade a standard bridge and have room for big devices. There are those who like soft recovery and those who prefer Schottky and I'm sure different ones sound different. I have used the IXYS DSEI with excellent results and they are reviewed favorably by others. Looks like they have very soft recovery characteristic. Back in the day I'd would have wondered if there were such a thing as hyper soft recovery.
Denied facts are still facts.

For sure! You had recommended it to me in the past as well and I have not forgotten.
As well as your advice on space available and suitability of different types of diodes/bridge rectifiers depending on the application.

I don't remember saying anything about diode suitability for different applications. They have to be suitable for a basic bridge diode. What I did say is that I believe in using way over rated for current and voltage devices for improved sound. And another thing, consider putting some rope caulk on your new diodes to see if you hear an improvement. The stuff is an excellent damping compound,IMO and in Herbie's opinion also, can be used on almost anything that isn't hot. Tweaker
Denied facts are still facts.
Thanks for refreshing my memory... and the rope caulk tip!
