Would like some feedback into this from anyone using it as to what it actually does for your system. I am also wondering if it does the same thing as the Acoustic Revive RR77.
Follow Ups:
It's a broad-band equalizer, introducing a variable shelving boost from the upper mid band through somewhere into the treble region. Hence the perceived increase in clarity and detail.
Variable in the sense that it's adjustable by moving it either closer or farther from the electronics.
The good news is that it's not in the signal chain. The other news is that an interior look at the smaller unit and keeping in mind the price, will make you go "Hmmm.... I could get a new refrigerator for this money."
Price-to-weight ratio is absurd.
I've got the smaller one and also the Pro unit, and find them 'interesting' and somewhat helpful for 'aging ears'.
cdb,
I am 50+ although I don't think I have aging ears (as yet) so I am curious as to what is actually inside it. Quite clueless to what "Its a broad-band equalizer, introducing a variable shelving boost from the upper mid band through somewhere into the treble region." means. Is it generating some sonic frequencies?
There is a small circuit board with a power supply and a couple of chips at the most. I believe the poster was describing the sonic effects of adding the Quantum, although I would disagree with his statement. I use a Quantum and several of the older iterations by Euphonic Audio. I hear a noticeable cleaning up of the top end and mid range frequencies, and an increase in initial transient attacks throughout. In addition, video takes an a sharper image (better edge definition) and deeper color saturation.
the funny thing is that my initial EAU units were purchased way back in 1991 and the improvement was relatively subtle. Definitely audible, but not enough to make my customers say that they had to have this $400 unit.
As I have added power line conditioning and made improvements to the system, the effect has become much more noticeable, even though my units are not even on my dedicated lines and on a circuit shared with lamps and other household appliances. I run a total of three devices, not that I'm saying you need them all, but even just turning off one is most definitely audible. My skeptics were rather shocked when re-listening to them in and out of the system.
I would try one and if the effect is not so audible, work on other aspects of your power. It seems to be compatible with most other line conditioners I have tried.

I recently borrowed this unit from a friend of mine. Plugged it into power strip which is feeding my whole system. I made the sound more hard or edgy. removed it immediately.
Did I do anything wrong? Maybe need to p-ug into another outlet? Does it need tiome to settle in?

I own two SPs, though I only use one at the moment because of a lack of available outlets.
Though Quantum technology is pretty controversial in some quarters, the SPs do work in my system. They’ve also been reviewed favorably in several publications, FWIW.
Basically, what I notice are increased smoothness and overall improved resolution. To use a well-worn cliché, it’s like a layer of grunge has been removed, revealing more detail and texture in the music. I like them a lot.
You might also be interested in knowing that Bill has a flagship product called the Electroclear EFC3X. The effect is similar, though much more profound. The 3X was built in very limited quantities, though I remember Bill saying that they’re coming out with a regular production version, along with other products, later this year.
