How the heck do you solder the neutral wire? Nothing to hang on to. I hate using solder as glue.
What am I missing?
Follow Ups:
Roughen the surface with a dremel tool for a better solder joint.
The above image is a Xhadow rca, but the approach is the same for a Vampire 800/CB rca, as well. Solder the return conductor where the red mark is located as shown in the image -- tighten the Vampire 800/CB rca's strain relief set screw located at the body's entry point to secure the cable in order to not use "solder as glue" (as mentioned).
Gotcha on the set screw.
It always seems like no matter how carefully you bend the pre-tinned wire tho', it always hovers just above the surface of the barrel.
I hate male RCA's; the whole world should be XLR!
An alligator clip can help you secure the wire to be soldered, just be careful not to solder it onto the RCA :)
...than you've had hot dinners!
Really struggled with one channel and the other took 10 minutes.
Mission accomplished. Oh-oh, maybe I'd better just say I'm done.
Thanks again.
