In Reply to: RE: What is your setup with Herbie's isolation stuffs, especially cdp and amp? posted by michaelv20850 on June 14, 2007 at 09:15:55
Tenderfeet and Gabon ball/cup. Ball/cup a little softer on top, tenderfoot has better image/detail and perhaps dynamics. I use three under each component. I was always afraid of the ball/cup a bit as an accidental big bump or other type event could result in disaster with a component on the floor. All their products have a 90 day money back policy. Find what works for you-pics are on their website.

Try the Frosted Acrylic ball in place of the Gabon Ebony ball in the Iso-Cup. You may like the results even better.
I read up on Herbie's site and Arcylic ball is interesting. Its characteristic is exactly what i want : punch bass, extended high without glare or sibilance....
Do you install 3 or 4 isocups? I have 3 myrtle block under my cdp and 4 under my integrated amp. And is it only good for amp/integrated amp, but cdp?
thanks.
Generally three Iso-Cups are recommended but you can use four if you wish. I have used them on CDP, DAC, pre-amp and amp to good effect. You can find a FAQ on Herbie's footers at the link below.
