anyone got ideas on 'best' preamp coupling caps ,,,V-caps , Mundorf silver gold , Sonicaps ...or ?
I am planning an upgrade on my Odyssey tube pre
thanks
Russian Teflon caps. The V-caps are nowhere compared to these!
Consider that this 21 Cap Review ranks Russian Military teflon caps near the bottom of the pack, nowhere near V-Caps TFTF. Good value, though.

I replaced 2 x 3,3 uF Mundorf silver/gold about a month ago in my Omega DUOs tweeter XO with the v-caps and I can tell you the Mundorf really sound broken in comparison to the v-caps. Yes, they are very expensive but worth every penny.
If you can't afford them right now wait until you can. You won't regret it!
Duomike
IMHO, the V-Cap teflon is the best-of-the-best, but they are very expensive and take a very long time to burn in (400+ hours). Of course, they sound good off the bat, but you really haven't heard them at all until you pass the 300 hour mark! I know...I'm impossibly impatient myself, but these babies are worth it! I have tried many of the very best coupling capacitors, and I find that the V-Caps are the most neutral and musical overall. It's truly hard to find a combination of both of these attributes...that's what makes the V-Caps so special!
