Fifty years ago I chose a Scott tuner over an MR67 to save money. Big mistake. The Scott was very good but not a McIntosh MR67.
Follow Ups:
Dollar for dollar, the Sherwoods of the 1960s were mighty fine to my ears.
The MR-67, a fairly recent acquisition, does sound a bit better (better bass qualitatively & quantitatively)... but only a bit.
PS -- nothin' agains the Scotts! Thus my "dollar for dollar" qualifier.
all the best,
mrh
I recall the Sherwood tuner reviews and you are correct, the reviews were always excellent.
