My amp was custom designed specifically for the ST 6L6GA... and the Sylvania is the best sounding... the amp was designed for me about 20 years ago. It's pretty awesome. But thanks for the suggestion.

I can't tell from your post whether you've actually tried the 6P3S-E. I have a large quantity of these, as well as NOS Sylvania 5881 and a few non-Sylvania 6L6GC. They're all interchangeable electrically, in case you didn't know. In my tests, the 6P3S-E produces less distortion than the others when used in a typical push-pull pentode amplifier with ~20 dB feedback. I'm not trying to sell you on these (and mine are not for sale), just clarifying. Would be very interested to see a photo of your amp. Here's my last effort, built from iron pulled from a HK TA7000X:
The amp was custom designed by Fred Volz of Emotive Audio... His setups received recognition at Audio Shows. He now is now retired from Audio. I was a big fan of his work. He designs around a very specific tube.. and in this case it was the 6L6GA... in the same way that the only rectifiers I can use are the 5U4g or 5X4G. I have more flexibility with the 2 sets of double triodes in front ... which are now 5687s. And as I haven't been dealing with tube vendors for a number of years... I was reaching out for current resources on these vintage military tubes. This amp is unbelievable to my ears... and they are set up with refurbished Quad57s. If you can point me direction of resources, that would be great.. and appreciated as well

It's interesting to see a stereo amp using Fred's Vita circuitry. I have a set of custom Vita amps that have a similar layout but just one channel of course. Mine have a tiger maple base.
Can you describe this in more detail? I haven't heard of it previously.
Input/phase splitter is LTP 5687 with CCS in tail, followed by 5687 driver. E-Linear feedback.

OP I sent you an e-mail.
Thanks, I got it and responded.

Do you know anything about the transformers in this build? Would love to see the interior too if you have photos.
Wish I could help regarding the tubes, but I probably don't have any resources you don't know about already. Just the usual vendors plus the auction site. As you're finding out, they're scarce (and expensive when you do find them). Good luck with the search!
The trannies were Hammonds 150RP (potted) 100W 5000ct
The build started in 2004. It was Fred's design...we sent it to James Burgess to build with Fred overseeing it and eventually having to make correction in order to have it work. But, we sent it to Burgess to lower my costs. It would have been much more expensive if Fred had to do the labor, which involved over 50 hours. It was his way of giving me a very high-end amp at a conservative price for my 65th birthday. I paralleled that with his Erato preamp which we upgraded 2 or 3 times It is essentially the same amp design that went into his dual Vita amps. He had developed a circuitry that he felt produced a superior sound,.. and it did. The frame was made from Koa. I can't tell you how many hours of joy and inner peace it has brought me...but when we moved into the woods of CT, the hobby...the fests... and the purchase of the AMR DAC... the need to upgrade, keep in front of the game no longer a need....I had in an audio system what I always dreamed to have thanks to Fred...and now I could just be with the music... which it is really all about for me... I'm eternally grateful to him for this awesome amp.

From what I see in the photo, build quality is very high. And I would expect those 100W OPTs to have a ton of headroom and bandwidth. I can see why it performs so well. Good luck again with the tubes!
;) The point to point circuitry was beautifully done by Burgess... he was a jeweler by trade... the soldering and wiring was unreal...Fred complimented him on it.
