Point of desperation here. One of my C3G's (a pair) on my Ken Uesugi preamp has just gone microphonic. These tubes are becoming very rare and expensive. Mostly available on German eBay. Does anybody have a spare that they may be willing to part with? Probably not but one can wish.

You might just as well bite the bullet. Prices even on ePay are high. Tube Depot would be my choice, same price or less than ePay and safer.

Thanks!Depot has the tube on backorder. I found a tube vendor in Finland more reasonable than the eBay sellers.
Drop me a maill if you have trouble finding C3g.
Cheers!

If you don't find a suitable replacement at a decent price, maybe consider replacing that socket and using a different pentode. 9-pin miniatures are likely to be much less microphonic, and some are very inexpensive. You could buy extra and select the best ones by hand. The 6BH6 (6661) might work well in this application. The 5686 is another possibility, and depending on circuitry, the EF86, although its anode dissipation is more limited. If a larger form factor is really important to you, the glass 6SJ7GT (octal) might be a reasonable option. Would need to compare the curves to see which of these (or others) would bias most similarly to the C3G.
