it looks like a 3 to me but based on construction it is Telefunken if it looks more like 3 its 12ax7 if a 2 its 12au7 i have several and compared you pick but i think its 3 and 12ax7 easiest way to verify is put it in a tube tester and you will know, just a decent tester like hickok or bk i have both but my bk is modified for 12ax7s to test properly in different socket on the tester.

Thanks, it's a 3. I remember taking this and a bunch of other tubes out of some trashed reel to reel recorders like 40 years ago.

  actually thats a good place to get quiet tubes and so are oscopes which are branded HP Hewlett Packard
