...the Reflector factory making those tubes is actually owned by an American company.
Same here. I also try not to buy Chinese parts. These governments are responsible for horrendous atrocities, and it's ongoing.
Absolutely. Decided to go DIY and use NOS US/European/Japanese tubes only.
My Stereo uses the following:
6AH4/6DE4 for preamp use
6BL7/8552 for power amp use.
All high quality NOS tubes. The 8552 is a 12V version of the 6146B. It makes a excellent power tube in pentode provided the screen voltage is regulated and fixed bias is set around 20 to 22 ma.

Fortunately the JJ tubes I have tried recently are very good. Their E83CC is one of the best 12ax7 types I have heard (and I have most of the best NOS versions) and I just picked up a quad of JJ KT88 and so far am very impressed. Have about 100 hours on them and bias is very steady and sound is very good. Hopefully they last.
Who needs Russia?
I have enough power tubes to last for years, but I used the last of my 12AX7s in a DIY guitar amp awhile back. I'll need to replenish those before too long. JJ it is!
The one I'm talking about is the JJ E83CC. It is a frame grid type tube modeled after the Tesla E88CC. JJ makes about 10 different types of 12ax7/ECC83/5751. I have not tried the other types so I can't comment on their sound, but would not be surprised if they are good too.
My first pair from the tube store have about 200 hours on them in my phono stage. So far still very quiet and sounding good. Hope they last.
I bought two pairs at different times, paid extra for low noise/matching, they all went noisy, 3-8 months later. Bought them for use in my CAT-pre, then moved them to my Amp when they became noisy, but soon after even in the amp the noise became a squelch, a ringing, hum, each tube displayed a different type of noise.
Sure they were the best sounding JJ..AX7, but reliability can be sketchy...in my case that's 100%, not great at all.
Tube Depot the source.
YMMV
I have had mine for about 4 months of constant use. No noise so far but I know life span can be an issue in new production tubes. Hopefully they will last longer than 8 months.
If you need a tube made in Europe, there is always JJ,
made in Slovakia.
