The 6080 was meant to be used as a pass tube in a series voltage regulator. Not as an audio tube. It is not very linear.
What type of circuit are you using the 6080 in?Tre'

The 6080 is being used in a David Yee output transformerless single ended dual triode headphone amp. It sounds remarkably good for a tube that is not linear!
Do you have a schematic? Maybe the 6080 is being used as a cathode follower. A cathode follow works with 100% local current feedback and will force the tube to act linear. If that is the case, then I don't think you would hear an improvement by going to a different tube.

you may try tungsol 5998, WE 421A if you are in the mood of swapping tubes.
GEC A1834 as well. None of these are cheap.
I don't have a schematic. There are only 2 tubes in it (6DJ8 driver), and it came with a black-plate RCA 6SN7 (still good).
There are only two tube? one 6dj8 and one 6080? Which socket does the 6sn7 go in? P.S. I know that the 6080 would only fit in the 6sn7 socket but you can't sub a 6080 for a 6sn7. Those two tubes are very different.

The 6080 replaced the RCA 6SN7GA.

That is unthinkable to me. The 6080 is way different than the 6sn7. For one thing, the 6080 draws 2.5 amps of heater current, the 6sn7 draws .6 amps of heater current.
The 6080 has a plate resistance of 280 ohms, the 6sn7 has a plate resistance of 6700 ohms. The 6080 has a mu (gain) of 2, the 6sn7 has a mu of 20.
The one will not work properly in a circuit designed for the other.

Oop's. The tube that the 6080 replaced is actually an RCA 6AS7GA!
Those two are the same.
