I think this article can be summarized as follows:
1. Tubes are inherently more linear than transistors.
2. Triodes without feedback yield the most natural sounding reproduction.
3. The 45 is an excellent tube.

Only a bit missing.
Distortion of SS starts decreasing from idle to some watts and then starts increasing mildly from a minimum until a sudden increase appears at maximum power.
Distortion of tubes on the contrary is monotonic, it vanishes at low level and the goes always up until maximum power is reached.
This is true no matter how much negative feddback is applied.
This is why golden ears appreciate so much tubes.
This is best appreciated with a professional headphone.
