I once had an amp built that could use VT-52 / 45 / 183 tubes but the custom power transformer had secondaries specifically for those tubes and I also had filament transformers. The amp had a series of switches to throw to set the required voltages and operating points. It was a fun amp but in the end, I liked the 183s best.

      A James Burgess creation. It was very nice. Sold a bunch of stuff before son went to college...have since had 3 nice amps built by P. Birkland.
