"any 12A*7 can be rolled here"
In a circuit designed for a 12ax7 a 12at7 or a 12au7 would not perform properly without adjusting the circuit values. There are large differences in mu, plate resistance and transconductance between those three tubes.
I've always wondered why people contend that a circuit can use multiple different tubes without modification?
That belies the facts.
By the way, nice looking amp.

No tube is optimised but all tubes work well.

The differences between a 12ax7 and a 12au7 are vast. There is no circuit that will work well with both.
Do you have an understanding of operating points, load lines and the effects of those on gain and harmonic distortion?
Check the designers load lines. They are not pretty and certainly not optimized.

As Ive said the point is to roll and listen not to bogged down to one tube. So far its working well.

And my point is there is no point in listening to a poorly design circuit that will not tell you much of anything about the capability of the tube(s).
But it's a free country, do what makes you happy.
