Honestly, I have had a lot of (quality) equipment that has set for 20 years and have never had any type of cap failure. Wouldn't do it with chinese made crap though.
I was going to do just that but the more I read about caps and their lifespans I just decided to replace them all.Did I waste money by doing that? Maybe, but maybe not. Would the amps sound as good as when I first built them? Maybe, but maybe not. And if not, then I would replace the bad one(s) then the rest would still have age on them, so after 21 years of sleep I decided to just replace em all now and not wait until later. I am a fan of preventative maintenance.
Also I figured since I don't have electronics experience to troubleshoot them on my own at this point in time that it would be the best option.
I have a Bottlehead Foreplay 1 and a Bottlehead Seduction to refresh as well that were paired with the Laurels.
