THANKS. I actually have contacted the "parts Link" you sent. I received a nice e-mail from a fellow over there, who says that they clean these monitor switches, but to replace one (and pull from another machine) would be prohibitive cost wise. I would like to avoid sending my Nak in the mail.
AND, since I have a local tech who is very talented, I'd rather fine the part and have him replace it.
So, yes, please forward any other options you might have.
Thanks again.

Can you give me an idea as to what parts you are looking for? With this info I can shake my grapevine and see what falls out. Then I can let you know who to contact. Also, what state do you live in? I might know of more repairman close to you.
Happy listening

Thanks Michael.
I'm in Colorado, Denver area.
The part I need is the "monitor switch" (for an LX-5) that allows tape monitoring while recording. This switch was cleaned, but still causes one side of the LED to cut out and display lower volume than the right side.

You need to contact Mr. Bob at the included link. He repairs/restores open reel and cassette decks. Alot of these toggle switches will interchange and I am betting Bob knows where and what to do. He has helped me out in the past. He is located pretty close to you I think. Let me know what happens. I'll look around for a Nak switch.
Happy listening
Michael
