I just picked up a nice Sony TC-K555 Three Head deck today at a thrift store....in very clean condition with owner's manual and box.I know this sounds trivial, but there is a piece of dust between the display and the glass....how can I get that out of there? I really don't want to take it apart too much, so if anyone can show me a trick, I would be grateful!
Thanks,
Phil

I have one of these decks also, great deck and solid performer from i think 1982.Only thing i don't like about it is the bias fine adjustment only works for normal bias tapes, bias adjustment has no affect on chrome tapes..Enjoy..
Hey Phil.
I used to have one of those. Very good performer.
I can't think of anything else you could do than to take the cover off & see how it goes together. Maybe it wouldn't be difficult to get at. If it's tough to do, you'd probably be better off leaving it.
Maybe you could get a can of air & take the cover off & get it from the side?
Anyway, good deck you have there.
Cheers,
Bobbo :-)

There was a tape in the deck when I got it home....it is a digital master of Mozart, published in 1986....WHAT A GREAT SOUNDING TAPE!
I'm not big on Classical, but maybe I will be!
And this deck sounds incredible! I have a second one I bought at a garage sale for $5 last Fall....it works, but the switches are dirty and it needs a good cleaning....never got around to it but now I will!
