I don't mean NOS sealed tapes, I mean NEW manufactured tapes from ATR, RTM, NAC, and Capture.
Which have you bought and like compared to NOS cassette tape. Please list what your experience has been and deck you used them on.
I'm thinking about placing an order for some but would like to know what the better of them.
Right now I'm looking into either RTM or ATR. I haven't bought a brand new tape for a while now.
Thanks

I wanted to buy/try some new manufactured tapes, but all I could find was Ferric Oxide, Type I. I have never had very good luck with Type I cassette tapes.
I know some claim that they are almost as good as Type II, but that hasn't been my experience.
I found a company up in Canada that has some Maxell XLII-S pancakes that they can put into a new cassette shell. Anywhere from 1 minute to 94 minute lengths. I bought a few and they seem to perform the exact same as the NOS Maxell XLII-S tapes I already have.
PLEASE post back if you indeed try some of the new tape. I'd be rather curious to get your take on it...
Not bragging but my Luxman K-03 makes the Type I sound just as good as type II's. This is one of the reasons for me selling my Dragon. I couldn't get the calibration to maintain the clean sound from beginning to end, I never had this problem with the Luxman. The Luxman made clean sounding tapes from beginning to end no matter what type the were. Plus the sound stage was bigger on the Luxman. Just over all a better sounding playing cassette deck.
Would sure like to have that company make some cassette for me.
People have said they didn't like the Maxell Communicator Series tape but they worked very good with my deck.
I will report back when I order/receive the new tapes. Results may vary for different machines.
