I turned a screw near the bottom right of the head which did nothing. The one to the left of the head which was also more recessed did the trick. I had my headphones and was playing the tape while adjusting the screw and got it to sound clear. Does anyone know what the right screw does?
Follow Ups:
I found out that the other screw was the tape alignment in the reverse direction. Now I have this unit tuned.
It may not "do" anything. Some head alignment set-ups in my experience have an adjuster on one side, and the other side acts as a pivot, with a spring or rubber block type thing to keep tension in there somewhere. The risk you'd run is snapping the pivot-side screw off from over-tightening. Best to examine a manual, as I am not familiar with this particular unit. Just my two cents, take it for what it's worth.
