Restored beautifully by J-Corder.
Follow Ups:
Well, finally had an opportunity to really give this deck a workout. I am impressed. I listened last night to a recording of The Sorceror's Apprentice (Barclay-Crocker tape). As it happens, I moved recently to Wharfedale Linton speakers. The sound was, well, awesome. Imaging, detail, solidity, dynamic range. I suspect few people hear sound at this level of resolution. My system consists of both modern (Denon front end) and vintage technology (McIntosh 240 amplifier). Of course, one can tweak endlessly, but I am quite pleased with this combination. I cannot speak, however, for my neighbors, who may be less amused.
All of them I am sure could use some maintenance and cap replacement etc.But I am not competent to do it and can't afford the $100/hour to have a competent tech (assuming I could find one in Vegas where I live) do the work, so they are sitting as they are. Last played one of the 909s about 6 months ago, it sounded gorgeous...
There must be something wrong with me for not having something wrong.
