  Thanks. I guess the operative word is "talk." I emailed him sometime ago when I was first interested in buying/installing one or more Flux Magnetic heads and never heard back from him.

    Victor hit the nail on the head with his "preferably tube" comment.
    
    Over the years, I have hot rodded the SS electonics in quite a few studio and consumer decks. Always a notch up, always better sound, and have listened to them for many years.
    
    A few months ago I tried an EAR 834 phono preamp with the RIAA eq replaced with tape playback EQ. Had to change the input loading. then plugged the tape head ouput directly into the EAR input.
    
    Holy Cow were the PC corrected words that came from thy mouth....have never heard tape like that.
    
    If you have access to Spice you can run the model with the correct time constants to obtain the values needed for R and C.
