So, somebody actually bought an Elcaset deck?!
.
"Seem" is the operative word.
I still haven't seen the vapor-deck from Revox-Joy, nor the one from Ballfinger.
What I'd like to see is a good Hi-8 deck that will play my Hi-8 tapes!!
Follow Ups:
What I mean is that the spectre of new R2R machines is out there and Elcaset basically uses the same stuff. It wouldn't be so much for existing tapes, but rather a convenient way to distribute new music for those who don't really want to handle reels. I know it's far fetched, but a lot of people getting into tape don't have a collection yet and cassettes will always have limitations that the Elcaset would solve.
Just a fantasy scenario in case some billionaire audiophile is looking for a project.

Oh. So, they're not really "popping up". Have I got that right?
Just askin', to be sure we're clear.
Are you seriously nitpicking my semantics here?
I've seen new decks mentioned in the press, and apparently prototypes exist in some form sufficient for photos. My point had nothing to do with whether any particular machine ever ships. It was that the same technology was used by Elcaset and in my opinion it was a good and convenient idea. That's all.
It takes a while for something to get pushed off the 1st page here, but this will be gone soon enough.
"Are you seriously nitpicking my semantics here?"
Not at all. I'm simply pointing out the disparity between your topic title and reality. There's a fair amount of exaggeration on these forums, and, as a "manufacturer", you likely know the difference between fact and puffery.
Read my first post (and others in other threads) about the reality of new tape decks. Go to the Revox-Joy and Ballfinger facilities, and find one salable new deck ready to go out the door. The Revox-Joy vaporware has evaporated, and we haven't heard a word from Ballfinger since May 2018.
Just keepin' it real, for the benefit of readers.
:)
