I have an Wollensak 8055 8 track recorder

it does not work at the correct speed

is it worth fixing?

or should I look for a better one and if so which brand and model??

I mostly record albums to 8 track for use in car 8 track.

I have no idea if it is worth fixing. However, try the friendly folks at Tapeheads, (many of whom LOVE 8-tracks, and you will have a better idea.
