The seller of these tapes at first stated in the item description that they were gifts from a spouse who mistakenly gifted him with two track 15 !PS tapes which he could not play as his tape deck did not play back at the high speed. How sad.
His loss, someones' gain. ;-) I hope the folks who are buying these are doing it for the entertainment value of having their favorite album on reel tape. If "one" is truly born every minute this guy is gonna get rich selling this tapes on the cheapest brand of tape available.
Who knows maybe the buyers are getting great deals of music on no name brand tape duped by who knows what tape deck and then who know if the seller is copying from the best CD version of that title. Or maybe they are AAA being duped from cassettes! ;-)
Are these as legitimate as the hundreds of master tape "back up" reels that are always only available on tape that needs to be baked? The story behind one seller uses is that the original 15 IPS were copied onto another tape and then the original was destroyed as part of the digitalization of the music. So he sells a copy instead of the original. How moronic!

From Moldova, right? Not great, but not bad sounding at all. Source could have been an LP, CD, or something more exotic, but the Ebay ad didn't really claim anything other than it was THAT performance on 15 ips 2-track (sometimes 7 1/2 ips 2-track). Sellers like this often claim that they're just selling the tape stock, presumably for re-recording, and the performance on the tape is a "bonus."
Hallelujah!
Now the Bulgarians are churning out two track tapes. If the rule of supply and demand holds fast we should see lower prices. ;-)
But how is that the tapes are NAB on those European tape decks?
The huge difference between tape and vinyl is that there is a HUGE amount of vinyl in circulation, and a large amount being made.
Tape - well, neither is true. Ir is so niche, if the market gets tired of it a bunch of high enders are going to lose their arses on those machines whose prices inflated suddenly.
