Have a 1970 Teac 4070 whose take up reel motor or belt has finally given up (first problem in those 45 years). Anybody know of an experienced RtR repair guy in these two states (or lower VT or NH)?Help will be very much appreciated.

I don't know if they repair R2R machines, but there's a repair shop in West Springfield (ATC Audio) who did some work (refoam of a JBL woofer) for me last year. I inquired about a used Otari R2R, and was told they have someone on staff into Reel decks. They may be able to steer you in the right direction.
Thank you. I'll give ATC a call and see what they might be able to do.

Where are you? - I might have someone who could call you

Thanks for the reply Charles. I'm just north of Springfield, MA .... about 15 miles north of the Connecticut border, just off I-91 (north-south) and the Mass Turnpike (east-west).

Unfortunately don't know anyone in the Springfield area - will ask a guy a little north of Hartford.
Isn't there a stereo place in Northhampton - do they do repair? Suggest calling them (if they are still there)

Maybe if you contact these guys you can get a suggestion.
