It could, but the real question is why?
It's probably seen hard use, (it's a duplicator), and I bet you would get better use out of even a cheap 2-head 2-well plastic cheapy found at Goodwill.

because I think its cool and pay some money for it. because I though id use it to play recorded tapes on . and love vintage pro gear. audio and video. someone has to have love for this stuff . if anyone can help with modding or web sites please do. and like working on the stuff its a tank.
Tesla has a good point. you can probably do what you want to do, but at what cost.....Throw enough money at it, buy heads from JRF, and sure you probably can do what you want to play back tapes, but likely for less, you can buy a deck that already has most of what you want......
